The description says these should turn on when the door is open. There is an undescribed "feature" which includes a daylight sensor, so they will only turn on at night. In my opinion, this is not favorable (I rarely drive when it's dark). I think the lighting would be clearly visible and also add a fun effect during the day. Other than that, they look nice and seem to work as they were designed, just not as they were described.
